We had one of our big "proud parent" moments this Sunday. The preschool class at our church sang Away in the Manger in front of the entire congregation at the morning service.
This was Evelyn's big debut. When we found out the kids would be singing my mind immediately went to past Christmases where this holiday tradition had played out. I was a little nervous because my memories were usually of one or two kids having terrible stage fright and melting down right in front of everyone. So I was a little anxious that Evelyn might be one of those kids! Needless to say, she did great and so did all the other kids. No meltdowns or crying at all!
The kids were all adorable and everyone oohed and awed as the kids filed in. And the parents jostled to get into prime photo taking position. Then the cue was given and the singing began. Most of the kids, Evelyn included, just stood there looking around. The only singing you could really hear was that of the Sunday school teachers and helpers.
But nevertheless, we are so proud of our little girl and were excited to see her up there with everyone!
You'll see her in the clip below in the second row. Unfortunately she's kind of hidden behind another girl with pigtails in a pink and white coat. By the time I realized she wasn't going to be seen, it was too late to move to another spot for a better view. Sorry for the shakiness too - apparently I'm not a very good camera operator!
